As I expressed in the previous blog, This scene would not be as captivating if only The characters' perspective was shown. The film director focuses on the movement of Weronika and the movement of the the bus that reveals and obscures the view of Veronique.
The camera for the most part has always been focused in on Weronika, in parallel with the character's self-absorbed world. But for this scene the camera abruptly turns away from Weronika as she sees Veronique. Weronika's movement slows as she first catches a glimpse. Then the bus speeds up followed in sequence with Weronika speeding up. Then she stops ad the bus spins toward her. And as the bus slowly turns away, she watched and follows for a few steps.
The movement is circular and focuses on the spin of one object, permitting a view for 180 degrees and hiding the view for the other 180 degrees.
